Frank A. "Joe" Stanley, 68 of Meadows of Dan, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2014 at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Stanley was born in Laurel Fork, Virginia to the late Wise Martin and Hallie Cox Stanley. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Luther Stanley. Joe was the manager of an asphalt company, truck driver, and a farmer. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Sue Spence Stanley of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Curtis Allen and Barbara Stanley of Laurel Fork; grandchildren and spouse, Kelly Jo and Blake Poff of Willis and Kayla Stanley of Laurel Fork; great grandsons, Jonathan Blake Poff and Lucas Allen Poff of Willis; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Lucky Goad of Laurel Fork and Sandra and Gary Bartley of Lewisville, NC. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Reed Island Springs Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Rev. Lonnie Hylton and Rev. Nathan Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Shade Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Friday, February 14, 2014 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
