Frances Irene Sharpe, 64, of Galax, passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She was born February 11, 1948 in Carroll County to the late Blaine and Josie Belle Goad Willard. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her brother Lonnie Willard; and sister Barbara Turner. Survivors include her husband Junior Sharpe of Galax; son Stuart Sharpe of Chilhowie; daughter Angela Houser of Collinsville; brother James Willard of Hillsville; sisters and brothers-in-law Virginia and Larry Stanley of Hillsville and Shirley and Rodney Krontz of Bassett; several nieces and nephews; and special friends Shirley Bunn and Ruth Alderman. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 8:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Joe Shumate officiating. Burial will be in Wilkinson Memorial Cemetery on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 9:00 AM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:30 PM until service time. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
