Forthe Shockley Lintecum, 87, of Hillsville, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2012 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mrs. Lintecum was born in Carroll County to the late Elmer Smith Webb Shockley and Neatie Edwards Shockley. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Rhesa Lintecum; brother Dyer Shockley; sisters Obediah Webb and Gertrude Vass; and daughter-in-law Brenda Lintecum. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Janet and J.D. Rotenizer of Hillsville; son Gerald Lintecum of Cana; sister Dossie G. Hall of Wytheville; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor Russell Payne and Pastor Jon LAMontague officiating. Burial will follow in the Shockley Family Cemetery on Coon Ridge Road. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 PM until service time. Friends will also be received at other times at the home of Dreama and Morris Staples at 156 Mill Right Road, Hillsville, VA. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
