Flora Elizabeth Wilson Shaw, 87 of Hillsville, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Commonwealth Assisted Living. Mrs. Shaw was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Marvin and Elizabeth Vass Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Paul Shaw and sister, Norma Faye Wilson.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Tony Paul and Debbie G. Shaw of Galax and Terry Marvin and Sherry J. Shaw of Wirtz; sister, Ilene Burcham of Woodlawn; brother and sister-in-law, Glenn and Mildred Wilson of Galax; grandchildren and spouses, Jordan Paul and Jacqueline M. Shaw and Mallory Faith and Brad A. Hawks; and great grandchildren, Rylee Kathryn Hawks and Emmersyn Faith Hawks.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Elder Edward Bowman and Elder Lewis Vass officiating. Burial will follow in the Independence Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
