Ewell Lee Horton, 79 of Hillsville, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at his home. Mr. Horton was born in Carroll County to the late Arlyss & Alsie Dalton Horton. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his sister Vera Horton Guynn. He is survived by his sister Callie Horton of Hillsville; brother & sister-in-law Guy & Sue Horton of Woodlawn; one niece; two nephews; and a special cousin Ina Jacobs.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 am with Rev. Wendell Horton officiating. Burial will follow in the Webb-Skyview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday morning beginning at 10:00 am until service time.
