Everett M. (Mickey) Austin, 71, of Austinville, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2013 at his home. Mr. Austin was born in Carroll County to the late Telford and Mary Dunford Austin. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Frazier. Survivors include his wife, Annie Austin of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Renee and Jimmy Young and Amy and Patrick Sykes all of Austinville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Donald Burnette, Peggy Goad and Sue Nester, all of Austinville, Kathleen Horton of Dublin, and Teresa and Darrell Goad of Hillsville; special nieces, Beverly Phillips and Edna Ruth Grubb; grandchildren, Alyssa Payge Sykes and Adyn Blake Sykes; two foster grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a host of babysitting children; and three special pets, Sally Jo, Missy, and Thomas. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Pleasant View Church with Pastor Jimmy Young and Elder Ronald Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Pickett Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
