Everett Glen (Booker) Phillips, 81 of Woodlawn, went home to be with his Lord on April 29, 2015. He was born November 4, 1933 in Carroll County, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Shupe Phillips; parents, Jesse Phillips and Bertha Phillips, three sisters, Nellie Padgett, Ethel Dalton, and Evelyn Armstrong; brother, Joseph Phillips; step daughter, Sally Jones and step grandson, Danny Jones. Mr. Phillips is survived by two sisters, Goldie Phillips of Woodlawn and Mary Bodkins of Mt. Airy, NC; three step grandchildren, Johnny Jones, Marlie Jones, and Shirley Jones; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady at 11:00 AM with Pastor Timmy Byrd and Rev. Eddie Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Osborne Cemetery in Sylvatus. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, May 1, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
