Eva Winters Quesenberry Akers, 83, of Hillsville, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2007 at her residence. She was born on May 29, 1923 to the late Fuston & Woodsby Quesenberry. Mrs. Akers was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Ernest Akers.

Survivors include son & daughter-in-law Dale & Rita Akers of Hillsville; daughter & son-in-law Diane & Randall Dalton of Hillsville; grandchildren & spouse Shannon Dalton, Travis & Robin Akers and Ryan Akers; great-grandchild Trenton Dale Akers; brothers & sister-in-law Vinton & Helen Quesenberry of Indian Valley, Bitley Quesenberry of Christiansburg and Johnny Quesenberry of Roanoke; and sisters Effie Crowder of Hillsville and Vera ODell of Rockville, MD.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 22, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Dr. John Dunstan officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain Plains Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday night from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Mrs. Akers family would like to thank all of her friends and caregivers for their time and help during her illness.
