Eura McGrady Ray, 89 of Hillsville, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at Wheatland Retirement Center of Hillsville. Mrs. Ray was preceded in death by her husband James E. Ray. She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law Judy Ray & Richard Alderman of Galax; son & daughter-in-law Charles & Carole Ray of Roanoke; sisters Rhea Akers of Hillsville, Clyde Dickens of Monroe, NC, and Nova Jackson of Laurel Fork; brother Garnett Michael McGrady of Springfield, VA; three grandchildren & spouses Baja & Ben Irvin, Melina & Chris Vaughan, and Carlin VanNoppen; six great grandchildren Elizabeth, Oliva and Samuel Irvin, Blake Vaughan, and Sophie and Ella Grace Edwards and caregivers Elsie Payne, Cindy Moncus and Cindy Smythers.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 17, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Hillsville with Rev. Ty Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Wilkinson Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Thursday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
