Eugene Jearl Phillips, 73 of Indian Valley, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Novant Forsyth Medical Center.  Mr. Phillips was born in Christiansburg, Virginia to the late Sammie Eugene and Ruby Alma Matherly Phillips.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Veronica Dale Phillips and sister, Linda Amburn.

Survivors include his children, Crystal Casstevens (Josh Willard) and Kevin Phillips (Kerri Hunley); grandchildren, Curtis Hutson (Keely), Dakota Casstevens, Dylan Casstevens, Bryan Phillips (Ashley), and Jared Phillips; great-grandchildren, Forrest Hutson, Arlo Phillips, and Theo Phillips; brother, Marcus Phillips (Donna); brother-in-law, Roy Amburn; special friends, Fred and Marilyn Martin, Cephas and Paige Dalton; and special uncle, Carlos Phillips.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor Linny Lusk officiating.  Burial will follow in the Phillips Cemetery.  Military rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
