Ethelene Robinson, 83, of Woodlawn, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Waddell Nursing and Rehab. Mrs. Robinson was born in Carroll County to the late Thomas and Mae Edwards. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Robinson was also preceded in death by her husband, Olen Oscar Robinson and several brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Robinson has been a member of Laurel Rescue Squad since 1973 and was also in the Ladies Auxiliary. She retired from Sprague after 37 years of employment.

Survivors include her six children and their spouses, Larry and Debbie Robinson of Hillsville, Michael and Wanda Robinson of Galax, Shirley Dickerson and husband, William Suite of Galax, Lois and Larry Bedsaul of Galax, Ricky and Cindy Robinson of Woodlawn, and Tony and Lynette Robinson of Hillsville; sister, Nan Sizemore of Galax; ten grandchildren, Shannon Robinson, Shawn Robinson, Miranda Johnson, Travis Robinson, Christopher Dickerson, Sena Parks, Matthew Bedsaul, Chad Robinson, Lora Ellen Robinson, and Kaylyn Robinson; eleven great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 7:00 PM with Pastor Russell Payne and Elder Ronald Bowman officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 until 7:00 PM prior to the service. Graveside services and burial will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Richard Beasley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Laurel Rescue Squad or the Richard Beasley Cemetery. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
