Ethel L. Hawks, 81, of Martinsville, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Lewis Gale Pulaski Hospital. Mrs. Hawks was born in Carroll County to the late, Ransome and Lossie Melton Harmon. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Fielden Albert Hawks, and brother, Leroy Harmon. Survivors include her sisters and brothers-in-law, Odessa and John Peters of Max Meadows and Betty Sue and Ellis Alley of Woodlawn; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Eugene and Loree Harmon, Otis and Blanche Harmon, and Charlie Wayne and Patty Harmon all of Woodlawn. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 13, 2014 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Elder Don Singleton, Elder Thomas Radford, and Elder Leonard Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in the Melton Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, October 12, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
