Ethel Clara Davis Cruise, 96 of Hillsville, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Waddell Nursing and Rehab in Galax. Mrs. Cruise was born in Carroll County to the late Jessie Franklin and Hassie Unella Martin Davis. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Foy Wise Cruise; children, Clyde Cruise and Kathy Cruise; brothers, Coy Davis and Garnett Davis; and sisters, Iola Goad, Verna Martin, and Belva Galyean.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Helen Marie and James Perry of Galax, Elwood and Carol Cruise of Hillsville, Bonnie and Virgil Quesenberry of Woodlawn, and Patsy and Richard Martin of Hillsville; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Elder Ronald Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Isaac Banks Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Isaac Banks Cemetery c/o Elwood Cruise 2334 Red Hill Road, Hillsville, VA 24343. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
