Ethel Mae Alderman, 88 of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mrs. Alderman was born in Carroll County, VA to the late William and Iowa Goad Newman. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Kiley Alderman and a daughter Delores Smith. Mrs. Alderman is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law William Fred & Bonnie Alderman and Tommy & Carolyn Alderman all of Hillsville; son-in-law Perry Smith of Hillsville; five grandchildren P.J. Smith, Alex Smith, Fara Bourne, Scott Alderman and Travis Alderman; and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 20, 2008 at 1:30 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Ron Kronk officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Fairview Presbyterian Church Building Fund or the charity of your choice.
