Esther Evelyn Combs Hill born February 9, 1920 "Flew on the wings of angels" to be with her Savior on August 16, 2015 at the age of 95. Born to Orviell and Emmaline Robertson Combs and married to George Fulton Hill, Esther rested on her love for God and her family. "Momma; Our minds know that you are in a better place where there is no pain. You are at peace, we understand that. We just wish we could explain it to our hearts." Esther is survived by six of her children; Ruby (Roger) Neitzke, Curtis (Marlene) Hill, Virgil Hill, Jerry (Bonnie) Hill, Norene (Johnny) Pilkins and Allan (Judy) Hill. She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Linda Hill Rexrode, son-in-law, Roger Horton and sister-in-law, Mary Gladys Combs along with numerous nieces and nephews. Esther was the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren; Steven Neitzke, Susan (Bradley) Webb, Barney (Karen) Hill, Jackie Hill, Randy Hill, Tim (Barb) Hill, Kim (Gavin) Hale, Eric (Kelly) Hill, Chris (Andrea) Hill, David Dalton, Shauna (Jim) Keane and Tara (Josh) Dowell. Esther was the great-grandmother to 14 and the great-great-grandmother to 5. Preceding Esther in death are her two daughters, Loretta Hill and Reva Horton, son, Odell Hill and a daughter-in law, Sue Hill. She was also preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, Fulton Hill, two brothers and sister-in-law; Arnold (Josie) Combs, Carlos Combs, Six sisters and brothers-in-law; Elsie (Ferd) Hill, Mamie Sue (Vernon) Dalton, Mildred (Arnold) Hill, Wilma (Swanson) Vass, Irene (Norm) Bowman, Ruth (Paul) Rippey and sister-in-law, Minnie (Walden) Stockner. Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. in the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Elder Edward Bowman and Rev. Wendell Horton officiating. The burial will take place in the Independence Cemetery in Fancy Gap. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services. Flowers are appreciated however, donations may be made to the Independence Cemetery. The Hill family was blessed by God with their beloved caregiver Delores Carr, who has been a part of Esther's life for the last 12 years. The family also sends many thanks to the staff of Golden Living for their love and support and to Esther's roommate for 6 years, Jackie Rector, surely one of God's best!
