Erthyl Marie Dalton , 91 of Hillsville, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Dalton was born in Carroll County to the late Guy Harrison and Myrtis Catherine Martin Padgett. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Homer Clevo Dalton; brothers, Ottie Padgett, Guy Padgett, James Padgett, Joe Padgett, and Don Padgett; and sisters, Patra Martin.

Survivors include her daughter, Jane Dalton of Harrisonburg; sisters-in-law, Betty Padgett and Claudine Marshall both of Woodlawn; several nieces and nephews; a very special friend, Daisy Myers; and special caregivers, Jewel Adkins, Michelle Eldridge, and Jennifer Swinney.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor David Bays officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardner Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, December 6, 2015 from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. The family requests no flowers, and that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Island Creek United Methodist Church c/o Bob Snow P.O. Box 1831 Hillsville, VA 24343. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
