Ernest T. Martin, 87, of Hillsville, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at his home. Mr. Martin was born in Carroll County to the late Isaac Terry and Ora Lee Horton Martin. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, James Michael Martin; brothers and sister-in-law, Barnard Martin, and John and Patra Martin; and sister and brother-in-law, Imogene and Milburn Barnes. Survivors include his wife, Martha Martin of the home; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Kay Martin of Broomfield, CO and Wade and Nevada Martin of Hillsville; and sisters-in-law, Marie White and Maxine Martin both of Galax. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Fairview Presbyterian Church with Pastor Debbie Ginder officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fairview Presbyterian Church or the charity of your choice. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
