Bob Vaughn (Emory Robert), of Navarre, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
He was born November 25, 1932, in Cliffview, VA to S.D. and Susie Webb Vaughn. He graduated from Woodlawn High School Class of 1951. He moved to Canton, Ohio in July of 1951.
He was drafted into the Army on March 12, 1953 and received an Honorable Discharge on March 11, 1955. He served in the Transportation Division K-55 Osan Airbase in Korea. He was a lifetime member of Grover King Post 1115, VFW, Hillsville, VA.
He was employed by Republic Steel, 8th Street, from August 3, 1951 to January 20, 1999. He retired as #1 Steel Pourer after working many jobs within the plant for 42 ½ years. He was a farmer his entire life and loved all animals. He was a former Boy Scout and member of Future Farmers of America. He was of the Christian faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Maxie Lawson Horton Vaughn; his parents and his siblings Gladys, Ophelia, Glendye, Guida, Dessie, Delmar, Marshall, Coy, Ray, John, Ann and Barbara Jean. He is survived by a loving daughter, Martha Vaughn; a brother, Dean Vaughn; sisters-in-law, Virginia Vaughn, Mavis Vaughn, Edna Mae Vaughn, Juanita Vaughn, Zula Coleman and Ina Horton; special nieces, Brenda Matthews, Rita Anderegg and Trish Hash; special nephew, Bruce Vaughn; many nieces and nephews and their children; best friends, Jerry Willis and Roy Greenshield and his feline friend, Boo Boo.
Calling hours will be held Monday, March 31, from 5-7 P.M. at Coulson Church. Funeral will be Tuesday, April 1, at 11. A.M. with visitation from 10-11 A.M. Officiating will be Dr. Wayburn Mosley, Elder Ronnie Bowman and Doug Goad. Burial will be in the Coulson Church Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by Grover King Post 1115, VFW. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Coulson Church or to the Pickett Cemetery Fund.
