Emma Dociebell Gallimore Newman, age 97 of Austinville, passed away at home peacefully on Saturday, February 14, 2026, surrounded by her family.  She was born in Carroll County, Virginia on January 8, 1929 to the late Huldah McGrady Alderman and Burton Marcus Alderman.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Robert Charles Gallimore and Clarington (Pete) Newman; four sons, Gary Grant Gallimore, Robert Charles Gallimore, Jr., Steve Carson Gallimore, and Donald William Gallimore; one daughter, Dianna Daune Lawson; seven sisters, Zelda Parnell, Marie Wheeling, Nellie Gardner, Frieda Gallimore, Fay Dalton, Izona Williams and Oleta Gravley; three brothers, Oden Alderman, Maynard Alderman, and Orby Alderman; great-grandsons, Cohen Coble and Raiden Linkous; and son-in-law, Douglas E. Lawson.

She is survived by four sons, Olen Lee Gallimore (Jeanne), Oden Ray Gallimore (Cheryl), James Nelson Gallimore, and Thomas Mitchell Gallimore (Carol); four daughters, Ellen Yvonne Gallimore Ogle, Vera Collene Webb, Iva Lucille Gallimore, and Jewell Nadene Frogel (David); four step-sons; twenty-eight grandchildren; fifty-two great-grandchildren; nineteen great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends, neighbors, and all those that called her Ma.  The family would like to thank Mountain Valley Hospice for their love and care during her illness.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Pastors Russell Payne, Glenn Dalton, Jr. and Clinton Ray Gallimore officiating.  Burial will follow in the Round Knob Church of Christ Cemetery.  Mrs. Newman will lie in state on Wednesday one hour prior to the funeral service.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
