Elton "Hap" Worrell, 72, of Austinville, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at his home. Mr. Worrell was born in Wythe County to the late Walter Jefferson and Myrtle Clara Davis Worrell.Mr.Worrell was also preceded in death by his first wife Joan Bryant Worrell. Survivors include his wife, Karen Funk Worrell of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Glen and Ruth Worrell of Staunton, VA, Bill and Mandy Worrell of Lebanon, VA, and Alan and Kellie Worrell of Austinville; step daughter and spouse, Jessica and Chris Milby; brother and sister-in-law, Charles Bud and Wilma Worrell of Woodlawn; sisters, Christine W. Huff of Hillsville and Lois Corbett of Boyertown, PA; four grandchildren, Virginia Lauren Worrell, Michael Alan Worrell, Daniel Glen Worrell, and Isaac Creed Worrell; and step grandchildren, Alexis Milby and Ava Milby. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Coulson Church of the Brethren at 2:30 PM with Pastor Harry Shelton and Pastor Jason Simpkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Coulson Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, January 12, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. The family says that flowers would be appreciated; however, donations may be made to Coulson Church Cemetery Fund. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
