Elton Dale Cochran, 84 of Galax, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016 at his home. Mr. Cochran was born in Carroll County to the late Kent and Beulah Robinson Cochran. Survivors include his wife, Margie Cochran of the home; brother-in-law, J.P. Viars of Galax; nephew, Stephen Viars of Max Meadows; niece and spouse, Jamie and Kenneth Sheffey of Woodlawn; great nephews and spouse, Cody and Shelly Sheffey and Chase Sheffey; great-great niece, Skye Sheffey; step great-great nephew, Kenny McCoy; one brother; and special family member, Donna Jean Rankin.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 3:00 PM with Pastor Cas Horton and Pastor Jeff Pickett officiating. Burial will follow in the Dalton Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday at the funeral home from 1:00 until 3:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
