Elsie Gaynell Griffin Vass, 86, of Woodlawn passed away on Friday, April 02, 2010 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil Vass; parents Arthur C. and Ella Collins Hill.

Mrs. Vass is survived by two sons and daughters-in-laws Kenny & Mary Jane Griffin of Galax, and Jimmy & Betty Jo Griffin of Woodlawn; step-daughter & friend Barbara Vass & Fred Richardson of Wytheville; sister Betty Myers of Columbus Ohio; two grandchildren & spouses Michael & Deana Griffin and Donna & Bobby Elliott; two great grandchildren Drew Griffin and Denae Griffin.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 06, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Titus Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, April 05, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
