Elmon Stanley, Sr., 75, of Hiwassee, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Lewis Gale Pulaski Hospital. Mr. Stanley was born in Carroll County to the late George Glen and Melba Alta Bowman Stanley. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Stanley of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Roberta (Bobbie Jo) and Allan (Eli) Carico of Ennice, NC; sons and daughters-in-law, Glen Jr., (Butch) and Debra Stanley of Mocksville, NC and Craig and Heather Stanley of Hillsville; step daughter, Jennifer Nichols of Galax; step son and spouse, Chris and Kim Patton of Galax; brother and sister-in-law, Edsel and Linda Stanley of Hillsville; sister and brother-in-law, Oleta and Winston Puckett of Hillsville; seven grandchildren, Lisa Prillaman, Jessie Bracken, Glen Stanley, III, Brittany Cant, Alana Carico, Emily Patton, and Conner Nichols; and five great grandchildren. A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Eli Carico officiating. Burial will follow in the Weddle Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM.
