Elmo Nester, 83 of Woodlawn, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at Golden Living Center Blue Ridge. Mr. Nester was born in Carroll County to the late Hardin E. & Lettie Horton Nester. He is survived by his wife Theoa Vass Nester of the home; daughter & son-in-law Yvonne & Bill Webb of Hillsville; son & daughter-in-law Ron & Susan Nester of Galax; brothers & sister-in-law H.E. & Ernestine Nester of Hillsville and Hassell Jack Nester of West Virginia; sister Edna Mae Riddle of Martinsville; three grandchildren & spouse Dedrian & Crystal Webb, Zachary Webb, and John Moses Nester; and two great granddaughters Kira Webb and Haven Webb.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 29, 2008 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Elder Robert Lewis Vass and Dr. Larry I. Vass officiating. Burial will follow in the Goad Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service.
