Elmo L. McAlexander, 87 of Laurel Fork, VA, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at his home.  Mr. McAlexander was born in Carroll County to the late Dennis Lee and Sarah Branscome McAlexander.

Elmo was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was a faithful member of the Bluemont Presbyterian Church, where he held many positions, including Elder and Treasurer and he was also a trustee for the Bluemont Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Eunafaye Worrell McAlexander; sister, Rogene Nester; brother, Roy McAlexander (Willadean); brother-in-law, Claude Worrell (Carolyn); nephew, Michael Worrell; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jeff Garrison officiating.  Burial will follow in the Gladesboro Cemetery.  Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the Hillsville V.F.W. Grover King Post 1115.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bluemont Presbyterian Church 2406 Excelsior School Road, Laurel Fork, VA 24352.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
