Ella Mae Newman, 94, of Dugspur passed away on June 20, 2008 at Twin County Regional Hospital in Galax. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim Newman, son Alvin W. Dalton, daughter Shirley Martin, and son Paul Dalton. Mrs. Newman is survived by daughter and son-in-law Carolyn & Greg Armentrout of Hillsville; son & daughter-in-law Joseph L. Newman & Paula Purdue of Dugspur; grandchildren Basil Dalton, Sue Willie, Lesa Hines, Dannie Martin, Susan Branscome, Dean Martin, James Newman, Melissa Armentrout, Randy Perdue, and Jessie Perdue; and several great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be on Sunday, June 22, 2008 at 4:00 PM at the Vaughan Guynn McGrady Chapel, with Rev. Wendell Horton officiating. Burial will follow in the Newman Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 21, 2008 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
