Ella Ruth Melton, 79 of Hillsville, passed away on June 2, 2008 at her home. Mrs. Melton is survived by her husband Howard Melton of the home; son Richard Melton; brothers James Worrell, Elton (Hap) Worrell, and Charles Worrell; sisters Judy Williams, Lois Corbett, Christine W. Huff, and Ima Jean Worrell; grandchildren Jef Fern, Kim Fern-Gibson, Nathan Fern, Shawn Fern, Petrina High, Tonya Lintecum, Roxane Rhul, Howard Christopher Melton, Larry Melton Bills and Staci Melton; and twenty-one great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady at 11:00 AM with Pastor Russell Payne officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardner Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
