Ella DeHaven Fulcher, 100, of Hillsville, Va., was born on February 11, 1910, and passed away on February 13, 2010. She was a lifelong member of Hillsville Presbyterian Church and an Appalachian Trail DAR member. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Spencer Fulcher; and seven siblings. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Hulen and husband, Elmer, of Potomac, Md., and Nancy Riva-Palacio, of Raleigh, NC; four grandchildren, Henry John Riva-Palacio, Natalie Diana, Sarah Eckard and Anne Hulen; five great-grandchildren; eight nieces; four nephews; and one sister-in-law. We have lost an intrepid and generous family member whose independence and zest for living will be missed by all her many friends.

Funeral service will be held at Hillsville Presbyterian Church Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Kevin Campbell officiating. Interment will be held at Wilkinson Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010 from 6 - 8 PM.
