Elijah Randall (Randy) Sutphin, 62 of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Grayson Nursing and Rehab. Mr. Sutphin was born in Carroll County to the late Walter Kern and Alta Wilma Dalton Sutphin. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Harold T. Sutphin. Survivors include his brothers and sisters and their spouses, Melvin W. and Yvonne Sutphin of Bedford, Dorothy and J.C. Roman of Honaker, Brenda and Loren Phillips of Willis, Mary Ann Hill of Dugspur, David K. and Evonne Sutphin of Dugspur, and Pamela and Wilbur Cockram of Woolwine; and best friends, Mary Nester, Ricky Largen, and Vickie Clontz. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor David Bays officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
