Elgin Miller Carter, 86 of Austinville, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mr. Carter is survived by his sisters & brother-in-law Mary Robinson of Hillsville, Evelyn & Harrison W. Frost of Woodlawn, Esther Surratt of Anna, TX and Virginia Vaughn of Woodlawn; brother & sister-in-law Titus & Mae Carter of Austinville; sister-in-law Leona G. Carter of Galax; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 20, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Coulson Church of the Brethren with Rev. Russell Payne officiating. Burial will follow in Coulson Cemetery. The family will receive friends from at the church 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday night. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Coulson Church of the Brethren 4159 Coulson Church Road, Hillsville, VA 24343.
