Eldon Gardner, 97 of Fancy Gap, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Golden Living Center Blue Ridge in Galax. Mr. Gardner was born in Carroll County to the late Calvin Carper and Emma Jane Bowman Gardner. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Dorsie Lee Gardner; three sisters; and three brothers. Survivors include his wife, Iris B. Gardner of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Peggy Gardner of Richmond, Olen and Jane Gardner of Fancy Gap, Edward and Judy Gardner of Fancy Gap, and Ronnie and Janice Gardner of Knoxville, TN; nine grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Gladesboro Lutheran Church at 2:00 PM with Pastor Joe Shumate officiating. Burial will follow in the Gladesboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday one hour prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
