Elder Rush Goad, 88, of Hillsville passed away on Saturday, November 09, 2013 at Grayson Nursing and Rehab Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Mattie Webb Goad. Survivors include his wife, Annie Marie Goad of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Belford Lawson of Hillsville; brothers and sister-in-law, J.P. Goad of Hillsville, and Berlie and Ramona Goad of Galax; two grandchildren, Craig Lawson and Randy Padgett; two step grandchildren, Russell Lawson and Kurt Lawson; two great grandchildren, Bradley Lawson and Alyssa Lawson; five step grandchildren, Courtney Lawson, Andy Lawson, Ashton Lawson, Jordan Upchurch, and Kasie Sawyers. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 11, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Elder Edward Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Independence Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, November 11, 2013 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the Goad family.
