Elden Harold Vass 82 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Harold was born in Woodlawn, Virginia to the late Elden and Kathleen Sumner Vass. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Elvin Carroll Vass.

Harold loved Bluegrass Music and played with several bands through the years. He was a member of Round Knob Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years Janice Goad Vass; his son and daughter-in-law, Aaron and Angela Vass. He is also survived by grandchildren, Arianna Slate (David), Alyssa Davis (Caleb); two great grandchildren, Samuel Slate and Evelyn Slate; sister-in-law and spouse, Joyce Cagle (Dale); brother-in-law and spouse, Elmon Goad (Karen).

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Bobby Webb and Pastor John Leek officiating. Burial will follow in the Independence Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel.  A guestbook is available on-line by visiting www.vaughanguynnandmcgrady.com.
