Obituary

Elbert Willis Burcham, 80 of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at his home. Mr. Burcham was born in Grayson County to the late Creed Elbert and Lema Eskie Monday Burcham. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings Ray Burcham, Glenn Burcham, Donnie Burcham, and Esther Dillon.

Survivors include his wife, Macie P. Burcham; children, Greg Burcham (Beth), Kevin Burcham (Catherine), Terry Burcham (Lindsey Swanson), Loretta Stenzel, Ramona Sutphin, Phyllis Sullivan (David), Lisa Burke (Chuck), and Duane Sutphin (Amanda); grandchildren, Shane Burcham, Matthew Burcham (Amber), Heather Burcham, Myia Bean, Patrick Burcham, Blake Burcham, Jansen Burcham, and Beau Burcham; thirteen step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Daisy Linville (Coldon), Joyce Bartlett, and Evelyn Parks; sisters-in-law, Barbara Burcham, Deanna Burcham, and Mavis Puckett; and brother-in-law, Kenny Dillon.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor Chuck Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Rome Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dalton Hill Christian Church P.O. Box 790 Hillsville, VA 24343 in memory of Elbert Burcham. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
