Elaine Alice Motta Petronzio, age 101 of Fries, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center.  Mrs. Petronzio was born in New York, NY on November 15, 1923 to the late Henry Arthur and Clothilde Casagrande Motta.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Joseph Petronzio; siblings, Arthur Motta, Thelma Healy, and Raymond Motta; and son-in-law, Owen McLaughlin.

Survivors include her children, Bonnie Jean McLaughlin and Raymond Francis Petronzio (Michelle); grandchildren, Laura McLaughlin, Taryn Ramer (Steve), Justine McLaughlin, Jenna Heise (Robert); and great-grandchildren, Dylan, Tatiana, Benjamin, Johannes, and Katya.

A memorial service for Elaine and her son-in-law, Owen McLaughlin will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025 at 2:00 PM at St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church in Sparta, NC with Father Jacob Mlakar officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery directly after the memorial service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
