Edra Bowman Scott Turner, 86, of Laurel Fork, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2014 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mrs. Turner was born in Patrick County to the late Pleasant Gude and Cora Young Bowman. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Clayton David Scott and their son, Ted Wayne Scott, one grandson, Gregory Scott Turner; three brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include her husband of 49 years, William (Bill) Turner of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Steve Bowman of Laurel Fork, Tracy and David Allen of Roanoke, and Donna Sue and Dewey Rowland of Forest, VA; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Rome Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Terry McMillian officiating. Burial will follow in Reed Island Springs Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with expenses. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
