Edna Jones Sumner, 84, of Hillsville passed away on Friday, August 17, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Sumner; parents, Fred and Mary Jones; daughter, Annie Sumner; sister, Mabel Carpenter; brother, Robert Jones. She is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Alice and Junior Dalton of Woodlawn, Freida and Scott Isberner of Parish FL, and Kaye and Paul Burnett of Galax. Five grandchildren, Amy, B.J., Jennifer, Tina and Rose. Five great grandchildren, Kaitlin, Ashley; Devin; Dylan, and Haylea. Nephew and spouse, Frank and Charlene Carpenter. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 20, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Independence Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, August 19, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
