Edna Gladys Reece Wright, 93 of Allisonia, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows. Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her husband Glen E. Wright and a granddaughter Melissa Reece. She is survived by her son John O Reece of Wilmington, NC; step sons Paul Wright & special friend Betty Goad of Hillsville and Clinton Wright and wife Dora of Martinsville, VA; step daughters & spouses Glenna & Thomas Shockley and Elaine & Billy Jennings all of Hillsville; sister-in-law Tressie Buckner of Hillsville; niece Kandy Schlesinger; special friends Jim, Shanda and Katy Sinnett; one granddaughter; one grandson; three great grandchildren; eight step grandsons; 17 step great grandchildren; and four step great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 21, 2006 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 3:00 PM with Rev. Carl Ginger and Dr. James DeBoe officiating. Burial will follow in the Dry Pond Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Thursday afternoon at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.
