Edna Lavada Horton Lawson, 72, of Austinville, Virginia passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Pulaski Community Hospital in Pulaski, Virginia

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wingo and Lettie Horton.

She survived by her husband, Melvin Buford Lawson of the home; mother in-law, Dorothy Mabe Lawson; daughters and sons in-law, Angela Grimes Lawson and husband John of Galax, and Sherri Grimes Atkins and husband Bobby of Mt. Airy, NC; son and daughter in-law, Randall Wayne Grimes and wife Kay of Austinville; step-daughter, Tina Lawson Boyer and husband Dennis of Austinville; step-son, Billy Lawson and wife Chong of TX; granddaughters, Nicole Grimes Austin and Amy Alexis Lawson; great grandchildren, Landen Austin and Jase Garretson; step-grandchildren, Chris Lawson, and Salena Lawson Atwell; sister, Irene Horton Beasley of Mt. Airy, NC; brothers, Raper Jackson Horton and wife Audrey of Austinville, and Lanzie Carroll Horton and wife Rachel of Hillsville; sister in-law, Doris Lawson Carter and husband David of Austinville; special friend, Joshua Wilson. Many special nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 2, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Russell Payne officiating. Burial will follow in the Pickett Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, May 2, 2011 one hour prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
