Edna Irene Conklin Compton , 96 of Woodlawn, VA passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center in Galax, VA. Mrs. Compton was born in Fenton, Michigan to the late Henry Harold Engel and Edna Frances Lea.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by husbands, Jack Conklin and Shelby Compton; son, Randolph Conklin; daughters, Donna Ogle and Carol Ann Conklin; and grandchildren, Dwayne Conklin and Kim Conklin.

Survivors include her son Jack Conklin and wife, Fran of Woodlawn, VA; grandchildren, Jack Conklin, Jr. of Mesa, AZ, Wayne Ogle of Knoxville, TN, Hal Conklin and Randy Conklin, both of Orlando, FL; nephews, Tom Engel of Valparaiso, IN, David Engel of Honeoye Falls, NY, and George Hoop of Fort Myers, FL; and niece Pat Testa of Pittsburgh, PA; five great grandchildren; and one great, great grandson.

Edna worked in numerous jobs for 30 years at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, Missouri.

A memorial service will be held at the Mount Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home in Kansas City on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will follow in the Mount Moriah Cemetery. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family locally.
