Edmund Ray Staples, 90 of Hillsville passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at his home. Mr. Staples was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Solon & Ethel Hicks Staples. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by sisters, Annaleen Cochran, Betty Sue Hodge, Lola Wolfe, brothers, Joe, Horace, Carl Staples.

Survivors include his wife, Imoline Bond Staples of the home, a son and daughter-in-law, Morris & Dreama Staples, Hillsville, a daughter & son-in-law, Sharon & Ricky Perry, of Hillsville, grandchildren & spouses, Laura & Allen Goad, Galax, Elaina & Matt Frazier, Galax, grandson, Edmund (Eddie) Staples, Hillsville; two great sons, Ethanael Lee Davis, Peyton Allen Goad; one great grand daughter, Haylen Frazier; two step grand children, five step great grandchildren; sister Nelligene Hollandworth, Raleigh, NC, brothers and sisters-in-law, Jay & June Staples, Willis, and James & Joyce Staples, Hillsville.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Elder Ronald Bowman officiating. The family has ask that the burial  be private in the Edmund Staples Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 Until 9:00 PM. Military rite will be conducted by Grover King Post 1115. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice 1477 Carrolton Pike, Hillsville, Virginia 24343. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
