Edith Jackson Smythers, 100, of Hillsville left this world March 22, 2006 to join her deceased husband, Strader Smythers; two deceased sons, Kyle Smythers and Myrle Smythers; a deceased grandson, Jay Smythers; and her parents, John Walter and Narcissus Adeline Jackson for a great and heavenly family reunion.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Frances & W.M. Blankenship of Max Meadows, and Martha & Foy Dale Crowder of Hillsville; ten grandchildren, Samuel Blankenship, Strader Blankenship, Billie Kaye Robinette, Alex Smythers, Thomas Smythers, Glen Smythers, Jacqueline Frost, Michael Smythers, Mark Crowder and Eric Crowder; twelve great grandchildren, Corwynn Sylvester, Hannah Blankenship, Christopher Robinette, Andrew Robinette, Lee Blankenship, Karen Smythers , Eric Smythers, Tina Peacock, Terri Daniels, Steven Smythers, Ivy Crowder, and Joshua Crowder; and five great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2006 at 2:00PM at the Vaughan Guynn McGrady Chapel with the Dr. John Dunstan officiating. Burial will follow in the Pickett Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30PM to 2:00PM at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.
