Obituary

Edith (Sis) Quesenberry, 86 of Hiwassee, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Highland Ridge Nursing and Rehab in Dublin. Mrs. Quesenberry was born in Pulaski, Virginia to the late Owen McPherson and Essie Sutphin Quesenberry. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Mowyer Quesenberry; son, Gary Hugh Quesenberry; family friend, Archie McGomery; and siblings, Buren Quesenberry, Johnny Quesenberry, Billy Quesenberry, Kenny Quesenberry, David Quesenberry, Judy Harris, Wanda Peck, and Elsie Ernestine Smith.

Edith was a member of the Farris Mines Christian Church in Allisonia and the Church of God of Prophecy in Allisonia. Edith loved singing in the church choir.

Survivors include her daughter, Robin Sykes of Pulaski; brother, Danny Quesenberry of Dublin; grandchildren, Joshua Lee Odell of Pulaski and Casey Davis and husband, John of Pulaski; great-grandchildren, McKenzie Davis and Dawson Davis; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the loving staff at Highland Ridge Nursing and Rehab and Medi Home Hospice for their special care of Edith.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor Don Scott and her daughter, Robin Sykes officiating. Burial will follow in the Cox Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
