?Edgar Hugh "Hugo" Goad , 82, of Dugspur, Va, passed from this life on Friday, 18 Dec 2015, after five months of illness. He was born in Westfield, NC to the late Edgar "Edd" and Essie Spence Goad. He was preceded in death by two Brothers: Frank Woodson Goad and Eugene Randolph Goad and one sister, Rosa Lea Lineback.

Survivors include one brother, Buddy George Goad of Dugspur; one foster brother, Roger Robertson of Auburn, AL; three children by his late wife Wilma Hylton: Edwin Goad of Brownsboro, Alabama, Lisa Wilkinson of Roanoke, and Glen Goad of Bent Mountain; seven grandchildren: Erin, Daniel, Sarah, and Jonathan Goad; Joshua Beisley; and Katelyn and Donovan Goad.

He had an honorable discharge from service during 1953-55 as a Corporal and cook in the 5th AAA, 7th Army in Weisbaden, Germany. He worked many years in Wilmington Delaware for Electric Hose and Rubber Company; left there to build a few houses and do cattle farming on the old home place in Dugspur; managed apartments in Winston-Salem, NC in the late 70s - early 80s; and owned and operated "Hugos Trading Post" for the past 32 years on Dugspur Road. He "loved life and enjoyed it totally".

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at the Laurel Fork Community Center at 13146 Danville Pike, Laurel Fork, VA 24352 . Military Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Grover King Post 1115 3:00 PM.at the community center. The family will receive friends directly after the military honors until 5:00 PM and refreshments will be served. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
