Earnest Wilford Horton, 74 of Lambsburg, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2009 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mr. Horton was born in Carroll County to the late Rufus & Carmen Horton. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Helen Lois Horton; son Thommy Scott Horton; and sister Ethel Chapel. He is survived by his daughters & sons-in-law Patricia A. & William Glenn Semones of Lambsburg and Lois Gail & Gary William Motsinger of Hillsville; son & daughter-in-law Jimmy Lee & Nancy Lee Horton of Fries; brothers & sisters-in-law Alfred & Joann Horton of Fries, Clifford & Geneva Horton of Galax, Garnett & Susie Horton of Galax and Montie & Linda Horton of Fries; sisters & brothers-in-law Hazel & Glendi Burnett of Hillsville, Gladys Wagner of Galax, Belva & Earl Presley of Danville, VA, and Mary Ruth & Walter Thomason of Pellham, Alabama; eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at Laurel Fork Primitive Baptist Church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jackie Delp officiating. Burial will follow in the Nester Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
