Earl Jay Talbert, 73, of Hillsville, went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, November 22, 2020. Mr. Talbert was born in Meadowview, Virginia to the late Howard Clifton Talbert and Ruby Jones Talbert on September 15, 1947. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brother Murphy Junior Talbert. He was a Christian guitarist and enjoyed playing music and fellowship for the Lord.

Mr. Talbert is survived by his wife Darlene Gardner Talbert; sons and daughter-in-law Thomas Clifton Talbert and fiancée' Ann Marie; Patrick Enos Talbert and Kimberly Austin Talbert; Phillip Anthony Talbert;  grandchildren: Phoenix Caitlin Talbert Adkins and Evan; Sierra Josephine Talbert Poe and Randall; great granddaughter Amelia Josephine Poe; grandsons: Jacob Luke Talbert, Joshua Thomas Talbert, granddaughter: Hope Nicole Talbert, Sara Brooklyn Talbert;  grandsons Anthony Thomas Talbert and  Matthew Charles Childress, brother Wallace Eugene Talbert & Mary.  Several nieces and nephews survive along with special friends Nancy Martin and Bobby Mays.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 1:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel.  Burial will follow in the Independence Cemetery.  There will be no visitation. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the Talbert family.
