Dwayne Owen Conklin, 45, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away on March 30, 2009 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born March 18, 1964 on the Port Lyautey Naval Base in Kenitra, Morocco. Dwayne is survived by his parents Jack R. & Clara F. Conklin of Woodlawn; brother Jack R. Conklin, Jr. & sister-in-law Cindy of Gilbert, Arizona; grandmothers Clara Alderman and Edna Compton both of Woodlawn; and nephews Derek Conklin, Kyle Conklin, and Troy Conklin, all of Gilbert, Arizona.

Dwayne worked as a Manufacturing Operator at Flip Chip, Int. and was a part time Grill Cook at Waffle House. He enjoyed traveling to different states. He was a loving son, grandson, brother, and a great friend who would give you the shirt off his back.

He was very close to his grandmother whom he spent many years helping on the farm. He loved these Blue Ridge Mountains and kept coming back and wanted this to be his final resting place.

Inurnment will be held in the Good Hope Church Cemetery on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Elder Edward Bowman officiating. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at the Hillsville Presbyterian Church at 1:00 P.M. with Dr. George Conn officiating.
