Duel Vernon Myers, age 78 of Collinsville, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville. Mr. Myers was born in Carroll County to the late Dewey Clarence & Goldie May Bays Myers. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Betty Evelyn Myers and a sister Shirley M. Martin. Survivors include daughters & son-in-law Deborah & Bill Hodges of Bassett and Kim Myers of Collinsville; sisters Barbara Surratt of Radford and Betty Parnell of Collinsville; brothers Edward Myers of Martinsville and Basil Myers of Ridgeway; grandsons William Hodges, Jeffery Hodges and Justin Hodges; and great grandchildren Hunter Hodges, Amber Hodges, Blake Hodges, Logan Hodges, Jeffery Hodges and Evan Hodges; and several special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Myers Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 10:00 AM lasting until service time.
