Duane Lynn Piatt, 58 of Fancy Gap, passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at his home.  Mr. Piatt was born in Ohio to the late Melvin Eugene Piatt and Carolyn Jean Hartshorne Kindale.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Hall Piatt; son Carson Lynn Piatt; step-daughters, Brandy Dalton and Deirdra Michelle Shupe; and siblings, Christine Baker and David Piatt.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Independence Baptist Church at 1:00 PM with Rev. Tim Hawks officiating.  Burial will follow in the Independence Cemetery.  Military rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Grover King Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 12:00 until 1:00 PM prior to the funeral service.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
