Obituary

Draven Jerico Cleary, of Hillsville, Virginia, born January 21, 1995, passed away peacefully at home on March 5, 2026.

Draven was the beloved son of Stephanie Lineberry Walker, Marcus Walker, and Jamie Cleary (Jessica). He is survived by his mother and stepfather; his father and stepmother; his brother, Denver Walker and wife Erin; sisters Phebe Walker and Bryan, Whitney Cheeks, and Alexandra and Kyla Cleary. He is also survived by his grandparents, Cynthia and Delton Lineberry and Claude and Elizabeth Cleary; and his great-grandparents, Ray and Clara Spraker. Draven is further survived by his lifelong best friend, Andrew Gardner, and by his aunt Danielle Lineberry Alderman, husband Travis, and their children Aidan, Isaac, and Averi.  He is also survived by numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him greatly.

Draven was a graduate of Carroll County High School and New River Community College. Draven was known for his incredibly kind heart and the genuine way he loved everyone he met. In return, he was loved deeply by so many. He was fiercely loyal and protective of his family and was always the person who put others' needs before his own. Draven had a wonderful sense of humor and a natural ability to make people laugh, even on difficult days. He gave the very best hugs and never missed an opportunity to tell the people in his life how much he loved them.

Draven was exceptionally intelligent and had a remarkable talent for technology. He enjoyed working with computers and was often the person friends and family turned to when something needed to be fixed or figured out. One of his greatest joys was video gaming with his long-distance friends, where he built strong friendships and shared countless hours of laughter and connection.

Throughout his illness, Draven demonstrated incredible strength, courage, and resilience. Even during the most difficult moments, he remained thoughtful of others and continued to show the kindness and humor that defined his life. Draven's warmth, laughter, loyalty, and love for his family and friends created a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. His memory will live on in the countless lives he touched and in the stories and laughter shared by those who loved him.

Funeral services for Draven Jerico Cleary will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Funeral Home, 1035 North Main Street, Hillsville, Virginia 24343. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 PM prior to the funeral service at 2:00 PM. Remarks will be shared by Draven's cousins, Minister Zachary Kemp and Elder Russ Cox. Burial will follow at Myers Cemetery on Ridge Road in Austinville, Virginia. The family would like to thank everyone for the love, prayers, and support shown during this difficult time. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
